Wow. My calendar tells me Foundation Mac OS X Web Development is six years published, today. That seems insane.
Back when I was writing it, I thought I’d never finish it. I managed a chapter per week for the first five chapters, but then the process went wonky — machines were breaking on a daily basis, my health took a dive; it seemed anything that could go wrong was going wrong. My editor for that book — Gavin Wray (@gavinwray) — got me through it and the end result was more than worth it.
I still get people asking me if there will be an updated version. All I can say is: maybe. It’s something I’ve definitely thought about, especially as large parts are now a little bit too out of date. If I can find the time to get a lot of the main writing done on my own time (i.e. before I approach Apress and have their schedule to stick to), then it’s something I can see happening. Maybe I’ll aim for Mac OS X 10.7 and pack in HTML5, CSS3, etc.
If anyone is seriously interested in this, let me know. Otherwise, raise a glass to my six-year old.

Huzzah, this brings back good memories – six years old, blimey! Working on your book was probably the first time I learnt about CSS, browser hacks and discovered the web standardistas. Really enjoyed it.
Best of luck with an updated version.
Still owe much of what I learned to your guidance during those days. Cheers to Phillz.
